Members of the public, alongside local leaders, aired their frustrations over the government’s failure to translate huge tax revenues into tangible benefits for citizens. Despite the surge in tax collections, many Mombasa residents expressed dissatisfaction with the government's service delivery, pointing out that their taxes seemed to be yielding little in return.
