Pharmacists Unite: Advocating for Unified Regulations and Professionalism in Healthcare

In a recent conference held in Mombasa county, the pharmaceutical community came together with a unified voice, advocating for the government to maintain human and veterinary medicine regulations under one comprehensive umbrella. Led by the esteemed Dr. Wairimu Mbogo, pharmacists expressed concerns that dividing the regulations would pose significant resource challenges, emphasizing the complexity of such a task.

Dr. Mbogo, a prominent figure in the field, highlighted the critical importance of providing guidance to athletes regarding proper medication to prevent doping incidents that have tarnished the world of sports. She passionately defended the credibility of licensed pharmacists, stressing the necessity of eradicating unqualified practitioners to uphold the integrity and quality of the pharmacy profession.

Furthermore, Dr. Libea Fersu, the dynamic head of young pharmacists in Kenya, called upon the government to offer unwavering support to qualified pharmacists and create internship opportunities for the 500 individuals aspiring to obtain licensure. During a press briefing earlier today, SOBA officials accused Mr. Mutiso of gross mismanagement and interference in ongoing investigations into his conduct. In a landmark move to integrate Islamic and Arabic languages into national vocational training, Sheikh Siraj Rahman College of Islamic Studies held a stakeholder meeting with TVET Curriculum Development Assessment and Certification Council (CDACC) to chart the development of a curriculum for levels 3 to 6 — covering certificate and diploma programs. The meeting, which brought together educators, curriculum developers, and religious leaders, aimed to pave the way for the formal inclusion of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) and Arabic studies into the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) system.
