The Coast Parliamentary Group (CPG) chaired by Hon. Danson Mwashako and with Hon. Kassim Sawa Tandaza as the secretary general, gathered in Shanzu for a crucial meeting addressing the pressing matters affecting the coastal region. The atmosphere was charged with anticipation as the leaders engaged in discussions that could shape the future of the community.
In a momentous address to the media, Danson Mwashako stood firm in his assurance to the coastal residents that the ban on Muguka would persist, aligning with the directive from Governor Abdulswammad Sharif Nassir. This decision underscored the leaders' commitment to the well-being of the region despite potential political implications.

EALA MP Hon. Hassan Omar's presence added weight to the proceedings as he underscored the detrimental effects of Muguka, particularly on the vulnerable demographic of children under 18 years. The convergence of opinions among the leaders on this critical issue highlighted a unified front in safeguarding the health and welfare of the community.
Echoing the sentiments, Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi pledged unequivocal support from the Azimio la Umoja coalition, solidifying the collaborative efforts towards addressing the challenges facing the coastal region. The collective stance against Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi further emphasized the leaders' resolve to prioritize the interests of their constituents.

Amidst the unfolding developments, Mombasa's leaders, representing the Jumuiya ya Kaunti za Pwani, opted to decline a meeting with CS Linturi, citing concerns of bias. Instead, they expressed a desire to engage with President William Ruto to facilitate constructive dialogue on the pertinent issues at hand, signaling a strategic shift in their approach to addressing regional concerns.

In a landmark move to integrate Islamic and Arabic languages into national vocational training, Sheikh Siraj Rahman College of Islamic Studies held a stakeholder meeting with TVET Curriculum Development Assessment and Certification Council (CDACC) to chart the development of a curriculum for levels 3 to 6 — covering certificate and diploma programs. The meeting, which brought together educators, curriculum developers, and religious leaders, aimed to pave the way for the formal inclusion of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) and Arabic studies into the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) system.
