EIGHT INJURED AS PSV AND PRIVATE CAR CLASH

 


                Accident occurred in Thika Highway

Several people are feared injured after an accident involving a PSV and a small private car along Thika Super Highway.

An accident saw the PSV roll over on one side, while a blue personal car was badly damaged on the passenger side on Friday afternoon, November 8.

Images and videos obtained by Kenyans.co.ke revealed the accident took place near GSU headquarters, leading to a major traffic as the PSV lay on the side in the middle of the road.

Bystanders instantly rushed to the scene to attempt to evacuate passengers from the toppled vehicle through the windows.

PHOTO/ @mosoThe personal car, a blue Honda fit, was thrust to the extreme right side of the highway, indicating both vehicles were travelling in the same direction. At one point, a woman can be seen struggling to get up, indicating she had sustained worrying injuries from the accident.

While no deaths were reported, several passengers were rushed to the hospital with injuries.

Officers from the neighbouring GSU headquarters were also present at the scene soon after the accident, as they tried to disperse a growing crowd and control traffic which was building up along the busy highway.

Eyewitnesses recalled how the PSV driver maneuvered to avoid hitting a pedestrian, leading to the bus toppling on one side.
