Pakistan Navy Ship MOAWIN Arrives in Mombasa for Humanitarian Mission

Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) MOAWIN docked at the Mombasa port early Tuesday morning, bringing humanitarian aid and a promise of free medical services to local residents.

Addressing members of the press, Captain Humayun Yaqoob highlighted the ship’s mission to provide medical assistance to communities across the Indian Ocean region. About 400 navy seals were on board. “We are here for three days, and our objective is to offer free medical check-ups and treatment to the residents of Mombasa,” Captain Yaqoob stated.


This marks the third visit by PNS MOAWIN to Kenya, underscoring the strong ties between the two nations. “Kenya is highly regarded by us as a great friend and partner,” the captain emphasized, expressing hope for a positive response from the local community.

The medical camps will be set up at Mvita Health Clinic, where a team of medical experts onboard the vessel will attend to patients. Captain Yaqoob urged residents to turn up in large numbers, assuring them of quality services. The camps will commence on Wednesday and run throughout the ship’s stay in Mombasa.

The mission reflects Pakistan’s commitment to fostering goodwill and providing essential services to its regional allies.

In a landmark move to integrate Islamic and Arabic languages into national vocational training, Sheikh Siraj Rahman College of Islamic Studies held a stakeholder meeting with TVET Curriculum Development Assessment and Certification Council (CDACC) to chart the development of a curriculum for levels 3 to 6 — covering certificate and diploma programs.
